How to always display all folder sizes in every directory?
As a user of FolderSize I always have all calculated folder sizes in every directory visible.
How to configure TC to always show all foldersizes in every window of every subfolder without clicking or pressing any key?
TC is would not be productively usable when always having to click around on every folder in every view!
BTW: your system is really crazy!!! It is the third time to write that text here as your system is alway sabotaging and deleting messages! That ist NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Try plugin DirSizeCalc and create custom column set.
Kakadu,
Because it is already doable using a plugin, so time is better spent implementing features that are not already accessible through a plugin.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

For this function you can find a lot of plugins!
But making dirs read every time you see them is BAD bad idea! Especially, on slow drives with large number of small files!
OR!

Sorry, I will never add this as an internal function because it's causing too much slowdown with today's Terabyte-sized harddisks.

It's not automatic because reading these dir sizes in the background on every directory change would slow down the system considerably, especially when there are other file operations active in the background.
If you really need that, use the DirSizeCalc plugin as someone has already suggested.

Sounds like a good idea. What about new command cm_AutoCountDirContent to toggle this feature ON/OFF.
Don't save its state in the Wincmd.ini, so it is always OFF on TC startup and the user must turn it on/off when he need through shortcut or toolbar button.

Re: How to always display all folder sizes in every directory?
sorry to dig out such an old thread, but I think we've got some update for it.
a) we've got Everything which enables blazingly fast folder stats
b) DirSizeCalc doesn't cooperate with Everything
c) there is no other plugin I could find that would do the same thing as DirSizeCalc
does that change anything in supporting "always show folder sizes" in TotalCommander?

You can enable automatic directory size calculation, by adding the cm_CountDirContent command to the "Auto-run commands:" field of a "View Mode" - But, you have to add it to ALL View Modes where you want automatic directory size calculation, and you have to use those View Modes in "Auto Switch Mode"
