TC 9.0.0 RC1 and RC2 with Win 98 SE, and I have no WCMICONS.INC file.
Folder has R attribute -> TC shows proper folder icon
Folder has S attribute -> TC shows proper folder icon
Folder has no attribute -> TC shows wrong icon (TC's diskette appears)

Have no betas there, can't check them now.
[TC 9.0 RC 1,2] Wrong folder icon for non-attributed folders

Hi, MaxX.
To me the 2 screenshots seem to suggest that indeed
You could post a screenshot of the dialogue box perhaps.
Also it would be relevant to learn whether there is any iconlib= parameter in your wincmd.ini, section [configuration]; and in case there is what it has been set to.
Best regards,
Karl
To me the 2 screenshots seem to suggest that indeed
- only folders which have got the "r" (read-only) or the "s" (system) attribute set will be displayed with the yellow folder icon
- and that all other folders will be displayed with the Total Commander programme icon.
In case they are hidden, attribute "h", the exclamation mark overlay will be displayed on top of the TC programme icon as well.

Code: Select all
IconLib=?
Karl
I had
IconLib=%COMMANDER_PATH%\Fileicons.dll
there, but no such file (it has been deleted some years before).
TC shows proper icons without this string now:

But it is strange that old TC 8.x works fine, but TC 9.0 RC seems to be broken.

I could not reproduce this on Windows 9x, the folder icon is correct even with IconLib=anyname.dll. Maybe other settings are needed too? I tried with my normal settings and with a fresh ini.

Strange, but I can't repeat it again anymore....
RC1, 2 and 3 show proper icons now (the same config, the same system).
I always run first tests on my Win98 snapshot in Virtual PC (without any changes between tests).
I think there could be some problem in Win98, but not in TC.
