List of internal commands

The list of internal commands on this page are the internal commands of Total Commander 11.51. To view the commands for earlier versions use the "View history" of this page to visit earlier snapshots.

The column P? indicates whether or not a command accepts parameters. Its main purpose is to sort. You can sort by clicking a column header. If you hold down Shift while clicking, you can sort with additional sort keys. For example: click twice (no double-click) on P? and then Shift+click on Number and see what happens.

Notes

Positive numbers in front of commands can be used instead of the names of the commands (but not with parameters). Negative numbers are just used for translation and cannot be used this way.

Some ranges of command numbers have not all been given corresponding names. More names can be added to the Totalcmd.inc file if the user wants to use a name rather than a number. Be aware though that this file will be overwritten when you install an update of Total Commander.

Commands with numerical parameters also support ? or ?<number> as a parameter. When you use this parameter, Total Commander will prompt you to enter a number.

Explanation of some parameters

<feature_switch1>

<no_value> or 0	Toggle the state of the feature
1	Turn the feature on
-1 or 2	Turn the feauture off

<feature_switch2>

<no_value> or 0	Toggle the state of the feature

4	Toggle the state of the feature (not permanent)

<sort_action>

8	Save current sort order
9	Restore saved sort order

<drive_idx>

This is an index number of a drive in the drive button bar, or drive combo-box if drive button bar is disabled
1 to 99	Number of the first, second, etc. drive (counted from the beginning)
101 and up	Number of the first, second, etc. entry (drives and entries like Network or Documents)
-1 to -99	Number of the first, second, etc. drive (counted from the back)
-101 and down	Number of the first, second, etc. entry (counted from the back)
