Aliases provide easy access to your favorites via the command line of Total Commander. Aliases are often used to start an often used program, e.g. np to open notepad.exe. But aliases can also be used to open favorite folders, network folders, folders on ftp servers, file system plugin folders, websites, internal functions, programs or documents.

Create an alias

To create an alias please do the following:

  • Menu Configuration/Options/Misc/Redefine hotkeys
  • Set option alias
  • Enter string
  • Open command browser (by clicking the button with the magnifier)
  • Select internal or user-defined command
  • Close command browser by clicking OK
  • Click on the button with the checkmark.
