Internal commands are commands the user can use within Total Commander. These commands can be used to: perform specific tasks, change settings, open internal functions, customize Total Commander, navigate to your favorite folders, save and load groups of folder tabs, adjust the view of files and folders.

The internal commands can be executed with their name or with their number if it is a positive number. An overview of all commands can be found in the List of internal commands. Users can extend the internal commands with user-defined commands.

An internal command can be entered by typing or by using the Command browser to look up the command.

The various places where internal commands can be used are:

__________
1 Executing internal commands with their associated number is not supported.
2 On the command line, commands other than the 'cd' command and those starting with 'cm_' and 'em_' must be in capital letters. Additionally, executing a comma-separated list of commands is only possible with 'cm_' and 'em_' commands, and without using parameters.
3 Total Commander version 11.00 or higher required.
