Internal commands are commands the user can use within Total Commander. These commands can be used to: perform specific tasks, change settings, open internal functions, customize Total Commander, navigate to your favorite folders, save and load groups of folder tabs, adjust the view of files and folders.

The internal commands can be executed with their name or with their number if it is a positive number. An overview of all commands can be found in the List of internal commands. Users can extend the internal commands with user-defined commands.

An internal command can be entered by typing or by using the Command Browser to look up the command. The Command Browser can be accessed via the Command Browser button Command Browser Button (a small button with a magnifying glass on it) available in various dialogs, or via the cm_CommandBrowser command.
