Can you configure so that TC will open links directly rather than Windows Explorer?

When we get links to server files in an email or our reporting tool, we have to copy and paste the link into the title bar - which can be very fiddly with long file paths as TC displays a drop down of the submenus if you don't click exactly on an empty space and you can't access the file by pasting the file path into the command line box either. Can you find a way to override Windows Explorer from being the default file manager OR can you make it easier to take a file path from the clipboard and open it?
