  • Impl.png implemented - fully implemented in current stable version of Total Commander
  • Progress16px.png (partially implemented) - the suggestion has been implemented in current stable version of Total Commander. Some aspects haven't been implemented so far.
  • Not impl.png (not implemented yet) - not implemented in current stable version of Total Commander
  • Confirmed impl.png (confirmed) - will be added in next version of Total Commander (confirmed by Christian Ghisler)

Supplementary tools suggestions

Here you can put your suggestions for new tools to complement Total Commander. Existing tools can be found at Tools.

Desktop Search function

In the Find Files window, can you make an option to search for files (text) in all the computer. But to make the search real fast you need to generate an index file previously. The index file should be generated when the computer is idle. This is how Google Desktop does it.

Integration with Google Desktop Search

How about using the Google Desktop Search index instead of creating a new Total Commander file indexer?

Improvements in Synchronize Dirs

1. File/folder ignore mask - multiple, separated by ';', as in search (global ignore list from TC options is not used). Ignoring by attributes can also be useful.

This utility allows you to assign any program installed on your system to open various filetypes via Total Commander. As a result, whenever you hit F4 in Total Commander your file will be opened in the program you selected earlier and which you consider to be the most appropriate for viewing or editing that filetype.
